Well, it's getting to be time for reformat #14... seems explorer.exe has developed a nasty habit of crashing, the whole thing is getting slower and slower, and even wmp is acting up. I suppose it's only natural that reformat #13 would be an unlucky one (though this one actually lasted damn near an entire year). Also, while listening to music on my headphones, the right speaker just up and died for no reason in the middle of a song. $70 well spent... and now by principle of my technological religion, I can't replace the damn things with anything of equal or lesser quality, so it'll set me back quite a bit to get new ones (I suppose I can use the crappy earbuds that came with the Archos in the meantime). So yeah. _________________ Just the omission of Jane Austen's books alone would make a fairly good library out of a library that hadn't a book in it.

On a completely unrelated side note, however (as it'd be rediculous to make another new thread just for this), I heard a fantastic conversation coming out of my Psychology exam today:
Girl 1: Well, at first I was ready to go all the way for my PhD.
Girl 1: Then I just wanted to at least get my Masters.
Girl 1: Now it's like I just want to get the hell out of here.
Girl 1: Maybe I should just get married to someone rich who'll take care of me.
Girl 2: I know what you mean. _________________ Just the omission of Jane Austen's books alone would make a fairly good library out of a library that hadn't a book in it.

ROFL, go figure.
Sucks for your comp though. FYI, harddrives are supposed to last a lot longer than a year. Might wanna look into that. _________________ AKA PC Tman. XBL = x TechnoTman x

Yay, it's not my $70 headphones - after trying out my earbuds it became readily apparent that the problem is with the headphone port on my $650 stereo system! _________________ Just the omission of Jane Austen's books alone would make a fairly good library out of a library that hadn't a book in it.

So, about the reformat - I'm thinking its getting to be around time to upgrade (though I'll hold out for SP1's release before getting Vista), and spend an assload of cash getting my system specs up-to-date. Obviously I don't have an assload of cash so I'll have to put up with this crashing problem till I do, but I've been thinking that as long as I'm reformatting, I should go ahead and buy myself a couple of huge hard drives and go dual-OS with Vista and OSX. Thoughts? _________________ Just the omission of Jane Austen's books alone would make a fairly good library out of a library that hadn't a book in it.

OSX huh? Yeah they have a reverse boot-camp running on PCs now. I would say save teh $$ and get yourself a car b4 worrying 2 much about the PC, because I'm tellin' ya that technology is a losing battle. To stay on top of the game takes more money than doubtfully any of us will ever have. You're goin 2 have less and less time this semester and the next to play games on it anyway. Just my .02 but good luck w/ whatever you choose _________________

You know windows is corrupted when explorer crashes from trying to load a tooltip. _________________ Just the omission of Jane Austen's books alone would make a fairly good library out of a library that hadn't a book in it.
