Check it out. It sounds like it's gunna kick ass. Snippets from a preview:
"As we attempt a decidedly Rambo-ish approach in one playthrough, a nearby squad member sees an RPG in a building. 'Shit! Rocket to the left!' he yells. A second later, we hear the kthunk-woosh of said rocket sailing past our position. It's not even a canned comment followed by a triggered event - it's all A.I. interacting with the player on the fly. In the slow moments, according to Votypka [the game's design director], your A.I. squad could randomly check the status of the mission or tell stories."
"You don't really control the A.I., so trying to assault a motor pool from behind becomes an interesting experiment in how the CPU reads a situation. Rather than a frontal assault, we creep around the back. Two soldiers post up near the front while another trails behind our lead. Without any orders, the two up front create a distraction for our stealth kill shots from a flanking position."
"Granted, this was only the prologue level, but how one progresses is entirely up to the player. Whether rolling across the desert with Hummers or peering around every corner for head shots, the game accommodates your choice, and, so far, the team A.I. behaves accordingly."
The multiplayer mode looks to kick a lot of ass as well - for those of you who played Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, think that but with a more in-depth character selection. You pick a character class (basically defines what weapons you have) and then a "role."
Drone Tech: controlling unmanned drones that do different stuff depending on ur earned exp in that role during that match (exp resets every match).
Airstrike: do you need an explanation? Same stuff with the exp - helicopter gunships to cluster bombs or fuel bombs.
Ground Tech: gives u ur basic medic/engineer character - u fix up people and vehicles, but u can also erect gun emplacements or antitank rail guns. Oh, and the adrenaline u use to resuscitate people can give a heart attack to ur perfectly healthy enemies. Sweet.
Countermeasures: basically gives you EMP weapons du jour. _________________ Your writing hurts my eyes. It's like the text came off the page and sexually assaulted my eye sockets. |

Yeah this game looks like hot shit. Like BF2, a bit more futuristic, and more centralized objectives instead of being spread out. The class abilities sound neat too. _________________ AKA PC Tman
