Been hearing amazing things about both of these games.... anyone tried them?

Also, Bioshock is good if you didn't know... hopefully sometime soonish I can try out Shadowrun and Lost Planet for PC, depending on school/work.

Just played thru COD4's SP campaign. Incredibly good story, though definitely short (took me all of 8-9 hrs on the equivalent of Halo's "Heroic" difficulty level). Given certain parameters regarding my particular copy of the game, I can't test multiplayer just yet, but if I find out how I can, I'll let you know how that is.

so is anyone seriously considering picking this up? I literally almost did today but I want more participation. A friend of mine swore that it will be the best 60 dollars I've ever spent even w/ a 5 hr campaign mode... One technicality worth mentioning is that Gamespot said that both X360 and PS3 looked identical and played the same (thank god it's not COD3) and said it was simply a matter of controller-preference. This is fine but from what I understand PS3 players cannot play w/ XB players so....

If we're going all out on this 39.99 deal, I might chip in and get my own copy as well. I've never played it but have only heard amazing things about it. The more I can play with the Slayers, the more fun I have.

I rented Assassin's creed, not sure about it yet. Seems kinda slow-paced and from what I've heard, it's pretty much the same thing throughout the game w/ very little variation. Graphics are amazing though by far.

I have COD4 as well. I hear Dennis has owned that game for a while now and never tried the multiplayer. We'll have to wait until Chad's finals are over (Wednesday) at the earliest to play... but Albert and I have finals the following week so we may not have time now anyways... not sure.

tried to get ahold of Greg but he hasn't called back. I mentioned the deal to him though so maybe he'll get in on it also now that he has his box

Then I won't get it for PS3 and can't get it for 360 because I don't have that kind of scratch. But I can at least bum off Chad for the next couple of months.

BTW: Albert - since you're always in the know about what deals are going on, know of any sales on GPS systems (preferably Garmin)?

Unfortunately, I will be studying for French from now (technically, since 2pm yesterday) till noon tomorrow. I'll be sure and let Chad know tho.

Oops, a heads up... my last exam for the day can take up to 8pm, not 7:30pm (don't expect I will take that long), then I bike back (~20min)... so I'm guessing sometime between 7:30pm and 8:00pm I should be back.

Yeah I beat the single-player on Regular, thinking about trying Veteran, or maybe doing more of the Arcade mode.... not sure.

Assasins creed is a great game once you get into it, the new abilities you unlock throughought the game keep it more fun after each mission, and the fights are incredible. This is also the best looking game I have seen for the 360 ( i am seeing it in 1080i Very Happy ) If anyone has a question about the game let me know!!!

Sure, I've got a question. I've both heard and read that the missions get repetitive after a while - is this true, or is it like Tycho of Penny Arcade suggested (that such reviews are the result of playing through the game as quickly as possible in order to meet review deadlines)?

The missions themselves are repetitive but lets say you have to pickpocket someone and you have to do it later, in the later one you have more methods to do it, the game gets harder as you go along so it gets trickier and the areas (lands you explore) are more complex and fun to run away in so even though the missions may be the same, the experience you create may not be which i make it as fun as possible with killing people as I am running away haha

The story is really crazy but really interesting and seemingly complex. I can't wait to delve into this more. On the other hand, Mario Galaxies is getting repetitive, though still mostly fun. The bee stuff seemed odd...
