Here's a snippet of what I'm submitting as one of my papers in my psych class:
The third aggrandizer of this situation is politicians. Their role, unlike those of unwitting civilians and anonymous scientists, is large and obvious. Certain findings will serve as a boon to their own private political agendas, and as the principal financiers of these studies, they can conceivably even push the researchers to ‘uncover’ the results that the politicians want them to find. Imagine someone of enough wealth and power to bend results in their favor such as a vice president who would be well served both publicly and privately if geneticists found a cure for homosexuality. |
